This vehicle was built by myself in 2010 and had nearly £30k spent on it. It has been used and has taken us to Morocco, Western Sahara and Libya. Never missed a beat and is fun to drive down 1000ft sandunes! It then has stood in a dry barn since 2011 but ill health now forces the very reluctant sale of my much loved and personally built vehicle. It is a UK registered vehicle with a genuine 127452 miles and with it being UK spec has 3 X locking differentials, middle, front and rear. Not all LC’s have!! The engine big end shells have all been done along with all suspension, front and rear axle rebuilds and the vehicle is very nearly ready for another overseas trip. It has also got long range fuel tanks on board (hence rear mounted spare as UK spec trucks didn’t have this) as well as an built in air compressor with 20 litre reservoir tank (bolted to chassis, same as off a truck). All fully waxoil under sealed on loads of occasions and only just been done again. It only needs a minor service and your personal stuff loading up (cloths, food, toilet stuff & bedding etc). I had new brake pipes fitted for MOT last week so comes with a 12 months MOT. 5 good quality tyres and with air assisted rear suspension. Top quality Australian Old Man Emu springs and shocks all round as well as an Australian snorkel.
The 80 series is simply the best vehicle for this type of work and this is one of the best with all kit ready fitted and ready for a trip.
It just has to be viewed to appreciate!
Downside, well the vehicle has cost me nearly £30k and has so much kit that I will have missed something I am sure! It is 23 years old but it drives like new and goes like a train. It does have a few marks but it is 23 years old and wears them with pride!! I was planning on circum navigating the Sahara Desert and then shipping to Australia to see the sights for 12 months but ill health now prevents that and I will be sorry to see all my hard work drive down the road but whoever wants a cracking fully prepared expedition overland vehicle will be most pleased and it will give them years of service..
Any questions (and I am sure there will be loads) please call Phil on 07725040020. I have loads more photos. I do work as a driver trainer so cannot always answer so please be patient and leave a message and number. Cheers Phil
Is this vehicle still available for sale ?
